Roll Bounce M 2005 | l

NEXT SHOWING 6:35pm Saturday 25th May

Undercover Brother's Malcolm D. Lee (cousin of Spike Lee) directs Hip Hop star Bow Wow (formerly known as Little Bow Wow) in this funky coming-of-age comedy set at the height of the roller disco era, when jam skating was born. Combining the retro thrills of 70s dance and music with the moving story of a family trying to find a way to roll through hard times to a better future, the film is filled with classic soul tunes, outrageous skating moves and the unforgettable romance of the couples skate. Bow Wow made his debut in the family feature Like Mike and his first single, "Bounce With Me," hit number one on both the Rap and R&B charts. The support cast, a very talented bunch, features comedian and Rapper Nick Cannon who formed the rap duo "Da Bomb Squad" and who starred in The Underclassman (which he also wrote), Mark Rydell's Jump Shot and Monster House; Mark Epps - Guess Who, The Fighting Temptations, the blockbuster sequel Resident Evil: Apocalypse and the hilarious How High with Method Man and Redman; comedian Brandon T Jackson; Eve's Bayou's Jurnee Smollett; three time Emmy Award winner Wayne Brady (Brady won his first Emmy for the ABC's Whose Line Is It Anyway?) and Run-DMC's Darryl "DMC" McDaniels, to name but a few. Director Malcom D Lee's debut feature was The Best Man, followed by the action comedy Undercover Brother; writer Norman Vance Jr also penned the script for Beauty Shop and the music is from Stanley Clarke, the 1992 BMI Film Music Award Winner for Boyz N the Hood who, as an accomplished jazz musician, was a member of Chick Corea's band Return to Forever in the 1970s.
