Lucy Hale and Missi Pyle star in this family romantic comedy inspired by the classic fairytale of Cinderella, about a teenager who dreams of becoming a singing star who must fight against her cruel stepmother and stepsisters when they try to block her from her goal, and from true love. 17 year old Katie (Lucy Hale) feels that she has no choice but to comply with the demands of her stepmother (Missi Pyle) and her stepsisters, with the fear of foster care hanging over her head. Although she is much more musically talented than her stepsister Bev (Megan Park), Katie is forced to record some tracks so that Bev can stand out when a talent show is held at their performing arts high school. With her dream of becoming a singer in her own right seemingly out of reach, Katie becomes even more frustrated when the boy she has a crush on, Luke (Freddie Stroma) falls for Bev, thinking that she is the singer on the recording. Pushed to breaking point, Katie must figure out a way to save her career, and her love, from falling into her stepsister's hands.
