This sports comedy is based on the true story of Jasmine Plummer who, at the age of eleven, became the first female to play in the Pop Warner football tournament.

Jasmine's (Keke Palmer) uncle, Curtis Plummer (Ice Cube), a down-and-out former football player takes care of her after school and discovers that she is fantastic at throwing a football so he encourages her try out for the local Pop Warner football team. Initially, the coach is against it but she deserves and wins a place on the team.
