Spike Lee directs Wesley Snipes as an African-American married architect who has an affair with his white secretary (Annabella Sciorra) causing havoc in both their families. His parents have enough to deal with in his addict brother, while her family tries to match her up with a good Italian boy, who has a crush on an African-American girl.
